MEMPHIS, Tenn. (June 16, 2014) — The 2014 U.S. Open champion trusted his game wire to wire to Dynamic Gold to win by eight strokes this past Sunday in Pinehurst, NC.
This was the second major for the 29-year-old champion and his second win this season, having won the PLAYERS Championship in May. He shot 65 on Thursday and again on Friday to finish 1-under 69 on Sunday for the title and is only the seventh player in the U.S. Open’s 114 year history to lead after all four rounds. The win netted him a $1.62 million purse and a move to number 11 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
“A big congratulations from all of us here at True Temper to the 2014 U.S. Open champion on his very impressive win,” said Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “We are proud he relied on Dynamic Gold for precision and consistency to overcome the challenging course at Pinehurst and a competitive field.
