NCGA Master: Rick Reinsberg grabs early lead

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (June 9, 2014) -- Rick Reinsberg of Moraga Country Club holds the first-round lead at the 2014 Northern California Master Division Championship.

At Spyglass Hill, Reinsberg fired a 5-under 67 and leads by three shots over Dan Sullivan, the recent Pasadena City Champion.

Reinsberg leads a solid field heading into Tuesday's final round at Del Monte.

Robert Levin, Mark Casey and Jason Melvin are tied for third, just two shots behind Sullivan.

A group of 10 golfers shot 2-over 74 and stand within striking distance. That group includes recent Pacific Northwest Senior winner Jim Knoll and four-time and defending event champion Randy Haag.

ABOUT THE Northern California Master Division

NCGA points event. For players ages 40-55. Players must have a numeric index of 5.4 or less.

Format: 18 holes qualifying. 100 players plus ties including exempts will advance to the championship proper. Championship play is 36 holes, 18 holes per day. Registration closes 5/3/15.
