Long Beach Match Play: Top seed Guillen rolls to quarterfinals
LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 9, 2014) -- No. 1 seed Jordan Guillen won three matches to advance to next weekend's quarterfinals at the 2014 Long Beach Match Play Championship.
At Recreation Park Golf Club, Guillen knocked off Ed Susolik in the first round before dispatching of Chase Nicolai and Ross Stewrt on Sunday to stay alive.
He leads the final eight qualifiers into action next weekend where he'll face Martin Mannalo, the No. 24 seed.
Bhuvan Potluri was a big winner over Torey Edwards to move on. He'll take on No. 60 Hunter Epson, who won three tight matches to enter the quarterfinals as the highest seed.
In lower bracket action, No. 47 Adam Oser will take on Jin Ho Chung, the No. 7 seed while Mark Jensma faces off against Kyle De Silva.
