Mexican National Amateur: Arkansas' Echevarria in lead
MERIDA, YUCATAN, Mexico (June 6, 2014) -- Nicolas Echevarria remains in the lead after two rounds of play at the Mexican National Championship.
The University of Arkansas sophomore followed his first-round 69 with a 4-under 68 on Friday and holds a two-shot advantage heading into the third of four rounds at Yucatan Country Club.
Juan Carlos Serrano shot 69 Friday to move into second place, leaping Arizona's Ken Tanigawa (70-70) and Mathias Lund Gladbjerg (69-71) in the process.
Gustavo Morantes of Venezuela and Jose Antonio Hernandez Diaz are tied for fifth place, four shots behind Echevarria's pace.
