U.S. Senior Challenge: Weston holds early lead

LECANTO, Fla. (June 3, 2014) -- Mark Weston shot a first-round 69 and holds a one-shot lead at the 2014 U.S. Senior Challenge at Black Diamond's Ranch.

Playing the club's Quarry Course, Weston took a one-shot advantage over Jerry McMullen of Indiana.

Bev Hargraves is third with a 72 while Rick Herpick shot 73 to tie Happy Rakestraw in fourth place.

In the Super Senior Division, Ron Green leads Berger Warner after a first-round 71.

James Love leads the Legends Flight. He shot a 74 and finished five shots better than Bill Erwin.

ABOUT THE U.S. Senior Challenge

The U.S. Senior Championship is played each year at Gross Stroke play and includes participants 55 years of age and over with a maximum handicap of 4. Participants are selected by recommendations from the State Captains, present participants, and approved by the Executive Director.
