Drakeford adds to lead at Scottish Open Amateur Stroke Play
BARRY, Scotland (May 31, 2014) -- Geoff Drakeford shot a second round 69 to make his lead two strokes at the halfway point of the Scottish Open Amateur Stroke Play.
Drakeford started off hot today at Panmure Golf Club, getting all the way to four-under through 13 holes, but gave a few back on the way in, making double on the par-five 14th, and bogeying his last hole of the day to shoot one-under.
Drakeford is six-under 134 for two rounds, and leads a pack of three players at 136. Scott Gibson and Ryan Evans both shot 66 in the second round to vault up the leaderboard, and are in great position heading into the final day. Rhys Pugh is the third player at 136, as he shot a second consecutive 68 today.
A cut was made to the low 40 and ties after the second round, and 47 players came in at 144 or better. The final 36 holes will be played tomorrow.
