Kansas Pub-Links: Williams, Newman share lead
MANHATTAN, Kan. (May 31, 2014) -- 2001 Kansas Amateur champion Matt Williams and KGA veteran Steve Newman, a past winner of multiple KGA championships, lead the 20th KGA Public Links Championship after round one at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan.

Williams and Newman both fired 3-under par 69's take the lead going into the second round on Sunday, June 1.

Junction City's Brian Fehr and 2013 Kansas Amateur champion Chase Hanna are one shot back after posting 2-under par 70's.

Manhattan local Zac Burton is in the house at 1-under par 71 after the first round.

The 36-hole weekend championship was recently opened up to all KGA members for the first time in the events history.
