CONWY, Wales (May 23, 2014) -- Round one of the Welsh Open Amateur Championship has been canceled due to rain. The tournament will now be played at 54-holes, with a cut to the low 45 players after Saturday's round.

On Sunday, the qualifying players will play 36 holes.

Conwy Golf Club is located along the North Wales coast, in the shadow of Conwy Mountain overlooking the estuary towards Llandudno’s Great Orme and the Isle of Anglesey visible to the west.

A truly magnificent and spectacular setting for golf, set on links land known locally for years as the Morfa.
