Indiana Four-Ball: Widner, Aldrich lead
RICHMOND, Ind. (May 16, 2014) -- With the help of a hole-in-one on the 218 yard par 3, 10th hole at Forest Hills CC, Brett Widner and teammate Donnie Aldrich were able to post a best ball total of 3-under-par 68 on day one of the IGA Four Ball Championship.
"Skip (Runnels), a member here, hit his tee shot on 10 to about two feet,” Widner said. "I hit a hybrid to the front of the green and Skip said he thought it might go in and it did! It was my first one!”
Widner and Aldrich also carded two birdies today on the par 5, 4th and the par 4, 6th.
"We made a lot of necessary par putts today,” Widner said. "We play in a lot of team events and have a few coming up in the next couple of weeks. It would be great to start off the season with a team win."
Teammates Brian Harris and Derek Moore and Tyler Haire and Terry Geiger are currently tied for second at 2-under-par.
