NJCAA Championship: Indian Hills in Control

BURLINGTON, Iowa (May 14, 2014) -- The National
Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I
National Championships has completed two rounds at
Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa, and Indian
Hills Community College has a five stroke lead heading
into the third round.
The Warriors currently stand at 17-over par 593 after
posting rounds of 298-295. Indian Hills, located in
Ottumwa, Iowa, has a bit of a home course advantage
this week, as the 7360 yard, par-72 golf course is only
90 minutes from campus.
Wallace State Community College, of Hanceville, Ala., is
in second place, five strokes back at 298. Freshman
Cooper Brown leads the team at three-over 147, after
shooting a one-under 71 in the first round.
Zac Oliver of Paris (Tex.) Junior College, leads all
individuals at one-under 143. He has posted nine birdies
in 36 holes. David Wicks of Midland (Tex.) College trails
by a shot and sits in solo second at 144.
