Kentucky Sr. Team: Two teams tied at the top

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 12, 2014) -- Kentucky Golf Association Senior Members teed it up in the annual Two-Man Team Championship today at the University Club of Kentucky.

More than 170 senior golfers experienced mild breezy conditions on the challenging 36-Hole layout. The teams of Dennis Long & Howard Logan and Bill Leavell & Scott Pottinger both posted 3-under par rounds of 68 (Gross) playing Chapman Alternate Shot format to lead the Championship Flight by one shot over the teams of Steve Rogers & Jimmy Riddle and Tom Scheuerman & David Pohlmann.

Four duos, Wood/Richards, Boyd/Fugate, Stotts/Baber and Coomer/Fraley, are setting the pace in the Super Senior Flight (65 & Older) leading the way with 2-over par rounds of 73 (Gross). Michael Grantz & Gary Taylor lead the Net scores in the Super Senior Flight by 1 shot over the team of Raymond Casey & Hank Folwell after an 11-under par 60.

Jim Linter & Michael Rizzo lead Flight #1 with a low round of 11-under par 61 (Net). Flight #2 is led by David Turner & Sidney Anderson who posted a net score of 13-under par 59. Play will be concluded tomorrow on both the Big Blue and Wildcat Courses with the second and final round of the event.

FORMAT: 18 Hole Chapman Alternate Shot (gross & net) - Day 1
18 Hole Four-Ball (gross & net) - Day 2

Open flight (gross scoring only) plus Mid-Senior, Senior, Masters and Legends flights (with gross and net scoring).

Entrants in all KGA tournaments shall be required to have an active Handicap Index at a Kentucky Golf Association Member Club at the time of entry and meet the championship’s residency requirements.
