Greater San Antonio Mid-Am: Simmerman rallies

UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas (May 5, 2014) -- Danny Simmerman bounced back after a tough opening round to shoot 69-70 over the final two rounds of the 7th annual Greater San Antonio Mid-Amateur at Olympia Hills.

Simmerman shot 80 in Friday's first round but rallied to finish two shots ahead of leader Bobby Baugh.

Simmerman's final-round 2-under 70 and his second-round 69 were the event's only rounds under par.

Pat Youngs took third after a final-round 72 and Brian Marchiori placed fourth.

ABOUT THE San Antonio Mid-Amateur

Open to any man or woman with amateur status, 25 years or older, and residing in Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Wilson, Atascosa, Medina, Guadalupe, or Bandera counties for a minimum of three months prior to the Championship date. (Military residents exempt from three month residency requirement.)
