The Harmon Invitational is underway in Florida.
With some of the top clubs in the U.S. sending teams of four to compete, the Jason Alexander-led team from Carlton Woods in Texas is tied with the Hans Albertsson team (one of two) from Winged Foot in New York at 129.
Tournament honoree Butch Harmon is competing as well; his team from host club Floridian (featuring Tournament Director Kevin Marsh) is three shots back at 132.
In a nine hole scramble that followed the first round, (but does not count toward the overall total score) the team from Caves Valley shot 8-under 27 to win the front nine while the Floridian team posted 7-under to win the back nine.
It sounds like a fun day of golf in Florida, and we will bring you final results on Sunday.
