The weekend is upon us and it's a big one.
We're following closely the action at the
Azalea Invitational
at
the
Country Club of Charleston.
The action in one of the season's first major
national events began Thursday with mid-
amateur and former professional John
Patterson holds the early lead. He shot 6-
under 65 and is up by a shot on the loaded
field of mid-amateurs, collegiate stars and
rising juniors.
Working with our friends at Golfweek, we'll
have continuing coverage throughout the
weekend and plenty more from the 66th
playing of the event. Be sure to
follow our coverage
»
State association events heat up, too, as the
Georgia Four-
Ball,
Texas North Mid-
Amateur,
NCGA Mixed
Team and
Arkansas Four-Ball
are all in play.
We're also excited for one of the season's
most unique events, the
Grey Goose World Par 3
Championship. Held at the beautiful
Turtle
Hill Golf Club. The international field includes
former Ryder Cup players, PGA and European
Tour winners as well as high-ranking
amateurs.
We'll have boots on the ground and plenty of
coverage when play begins Saturday.
