It seems like Matt Every is in the hunt every
week, and the
first-year Callaway staffer broke through in a
big way on
Sunday with his 1st Tour win at the Arnold
Palmer
Invitational.
Here's what you need to know about Matt’s
huge win:
1. The Callaway/Odyssey equipment that
Every
used

VC 7.0x
X2 Hot Pro 3-wood (15°) – Aldila Tour Blue 75x
Shaft

A Callaway SR 3 Golf Ball

56° Mack Daddy 2 Wedge (S-grind, 14° of
bounce)
60° Mack Daddy 2 Wedge (C-grind, 8° of
bounce)
Odyssey White Hot Pro #9 Putter
His Big Bertha Driver is cut to 44 ¼” with 1.5”
total tipping
and a Fujikura Motore SPD VC 7.0x. The
Advanced
Adjustable Hosel is set to a Neutral directional
bias and a -1
Loft Adjustability. The Adjustable Perimeter
Weighting slide
is set at 0.
His X2 Hot Pro 3-wood is cut to 42 7/8” with
1.5” total
tipping and an Aldila Tour Blue 75x Shaft.
Now to the rest of the good stuff on his
maiden PGA Tour
win:
2. It was his first week playing An SR 3.
Good way to
start!
This was Every’s first week playing with a new
SR 3 Golf
Ball. According to our Tour Reps, he switched
to an SR 3
because of the “phenomenal feel” and
consistent distance
control it gave him with his irons. He also loved
the
distance and accuracy off the tee with his
driver and 3-
wood while using the ball.
Every’s win added to the new SR 3’s incredible
run on the
PGA Tour, highlighted by two wins in 3 weeks
(Patrick Reed
won with it two weeks ago at the WGC-
Cadillac
Championship).
It’s designed specifically to deliver the best
aerodynamic
performance for swing speeds of 105 mph and
above. You
can learn more about SR 3 and the rest of our
Speed
Regime lineup in this Callaway video.
3. Another Tour victory for the Big Bertha
Family
Big Bertha and Big Bertha Alpha have been
dominant on
Tour in 2014. Players have been drawn to the
#BerthaLong
distance (of course) and total performance…
and guys are
winning with the drivers in their bag. Now you
can add
Every to the list after he used his Big Bertha to
win at Bay
Hill.
4. His iron game was on point
Following his victory, Every said “I was just
pure with my
irons. I knew where my ball was going.” Playing
with Apex
Pro Irons in his bag, the Callaway staffer hit
72.2% of
greens for the week (T7 in the field).
5. A hot putter helped
He putted beautifully all week with an Odyssey
White Hot
Pro #9 Putter. He was T1 in the field in birdies,
3rd in
strokes gained – putting and 3rd in putts per
GIR. Every
first moved into the putter at the Honda
Classic – looks like
it was a good choice.
6. He’s in good Callaway company on the
FedExCup
With the victory, Every moved up to 7th in the
FedExCup
standings, joining fellow Callaway staffers
Patrick Reed
(2nd), Harris English (4th) and Chris Kirk (6th)
in the top
10.
Congratulations to Matt on a great win!
