Utah Winterchamps: Blair holds lead
SAINT GEORGE, Utah (March 16, 2014) -- Zac Blair, Kirk Siddens, and Sue Nyhus grabbed the first round lead in their respective divisions of the UGA Winterchamps Tournament being played on three courses in the St. George area. The tournament concludes Sunday.

Blair shot a 47 at Coral Canyon to lead the Men’s Division, Siddens shot a 39 at Bloomington CC to lead the Senior Division, and Nyhus shot 33 at Sun River to lead the Women’s Division.

The tournament is being played under the Modified Stableford Scoring System that awards points on each hole and in this system the highest score wins instead of the lowest score.

Flight Information: The field will be broken into flights as determined using the Handicap Index as of March 1st. Flights will be exclusively gross or net, this info will be sent in the pre-tournament email. Handicaps for the event will be calculated from the March 1 revision.

Eligibility: Winterchamps is open to all UGA members 18 years of age and older. Junior players with Handicap Indexes 9.9 or better will also be eligible to play. Senior players (50+) and Super Seniors (65+) need to be the respective age or older by the first day of competition.

Format: 36 hole stroke play using a modified stableford format. Scoring will be as follows:

Double Bogey or worse - 0 points
Bogey - 1 point
Par - 2 points
Birdie - 4 points
Eagle - 6 points
Double Eagle - 8 points
