With four rounds in the 60’s that featured a total of 24
birdies and one eagle, Titleist Brand Ambassador Chesson
Hadley was in top form this past weekend as he charged
up the leaderboard and captured his first career PGA Tour
title at the Puerto Rico Open. And to put an exclamation
mark on the win, Hadley closed with back-to-back birdies
on the final two holes at Trump International GC to win by
two shots.
With Hadley’s win, Titleist golf ball players have now
earned 27 victories across the Worldwide Professional
Tours in 2014, more than four times the nearest
competitor with 6 and more than all other golf balls
combined.
In total, 3,589 players have teed up Titleist golf balls in
competition on the 2014 worldwide professional tours,
more than six times the nearest competitor with 560 and
more than all competitors combined.
Let’s review the action from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico in this
week’s Team Titleist Tour Recap.
PGA TOUR: Puerto Rico Open
Hadley (Pro V1x) was one of 81 players who relied on a
Titleist golf ball at the event, more than four times the
nearest competitor with 18 and more than all competitors
combined.
Titleist was also the field favorite in the sand, lob and
approach wedge (126) and putter (53) categories.
Hadley, who also trusts a full bag of Titleist golf clubs,
posted a 21-under, 267 total to claim his first victory. The
win comes in just the 13th career PGA Tour appearance
for the 26-year-old and it earns him a two-year tour
exemption along with spots in the 2014 Players
Championship, 2014 PGA Championship and the 2015
Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Hadley also becomes the first rookie winner since fellow
Titleist Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth won the John
Deere Classic in July.
"It's incredible. It's a dream come true,” Hadley said after
the win. “This is what you dream of as a 6-year-old out in
the bunker, hitting bunker shots on the range … It hasn't
sunk in yet. It'll be nice to sleep on it and wake up in the
morning knowing I'm a PGA Tour champion and nobody can
ever take that away from me.”
Hadley won twice last year on the Web.com Tour,
capturing the Rex Hospital Open in his hometown of
Raleigh, N.C., and the season-ending Web.com Tour
Championship.
Hadley’s fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador, Ben Martin
closed with a 66 to finish in solo 3rd at 17-under 271.
Equipment Note: Hadley carries three new Vokey Design
Spin Milled 5 (SM5) wedges and credited his victory to his
chip-in for birdie on No. 5.
“Probably the shot that won me the tournament was the
chip in on 5. I mean I was dead over there and I hit the
nastiest little nipper over there, and it snuck in the left
door.”
Vokey Design Spin Milled 5 (SM5) wedges will be available
in golf shops beginning March 14th.
