SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (March 9, 2014) -- Jim Williams defeated Steve Schroeder in the final match Sunday to win his second title in three years in the Senior Division at the 2014 San Francisco City Championship.

No. 25 Williams prevailed 7-and-6 in the finale over Schroeder, the 15th seed.

With his second title, Williams joins Earl Stewart and Gary Vanier as the only two-time winners of the Senior championship.

Williams, a member of the USGA's Executive Committee, had topped Mike Staskus, 5-and-4, in Saturday's semifinals to advance while Schroeder beat Ray Pellegrini 3-and-2 to move on.

Both Staskus and Schroeder were playing in their first official senior event.

In the Super Senior Division, Ely Orquiza was a big winner knocking off NCGA Super Senior champion Ron Johnson in Sunday's finale. The 11th seed, Orquiza prevailed 5-and-3.
