Mid Pines Invitational: Fox, Neveu take overall title
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (Feb. 9, 2014) -- Ryan Fox and Daniel Neveu combined for rounds of 65-67--132 to win by two shots at the 2014 Mid Pines Invitational at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club.

Playing on the newly-restored Donald Ross gem, which sits across the street from sister course Pine Needles Golf Club, Fox of West End, N.C. and Neveu, who hails from neighboring Pinehurst, bested a pair of runners-up by two shots.

Jake and Robert Thompson of Greenville, S.C. shot 64-60 while Steven and Chase Liebler of Irmo, S.C. went 68-66 to tie for second place.

Jeff Fleishman and Tim Vigotsky of Virginia shot 65-69 to win the Senior Division by two shots. Steve Fox of Huntington, W.V. and Arch Reed of Pinehurst, shot 67-68 to finish alone in the runners-up position.

ABOUT THE Mid Pines Invitational

Of the seven Donald Ross courses in the Sandhills area, this is the only one with the original routing left in place. A fun 36 hole team event played on a wonderful 6500 yard golf course. Open Division, Senior Division (both players must be 50+).
