Marion (FL) Masters Sr.: Bryant prevails
OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2014) -- Bobby Bryant needed an extra hole to claim the championship in the weather-shortened Marion Masters Seniors at Pine Oaks Golf Club.
Bryant shot a 4-under-par 68 and found himself tied with long time rival and friend Kenny Godwin. Both players went to the 18th hole tee box for the sudden death format.
Bryant missed a birdie putt and had a tap in for a par. Godwin had his hole-tying six-footer roll over the edge to give Bryant the title. Finishing in a tie for third place were Carl Erickson and Bill Zylstra as they both shot 1-under-par 71’s. Zylstra won the Super Senior Flight and Frank Angelino won the Silver Senior title with a 75.
