Tasmanian Open: SA's Williams takes lead

PROSPECT VALE, Tasmania (Feb. 7, 2014) -- The 2014 Country Club Tasmania Open Golf Championship has a new leader.

South Australia’s Jack Williams shot to the top of the leader board today with a four-under-par round of 67.

The Grange Golf Club member sits at seven-under-par for the tournament and leads Jarryd Felton (WA) and Kade McBride (QLD) on six-under-par.

Tasmania’s Greg Longmore and Victoria’s Jordan Cooper are in equal fourth position on four-under-par.

The Men's Tasmanian Open is an Australian Men's Ranking Event. It is for players of any age and is played over 72- holes stroke play. First played in 1913 the history of the Tasmanian Open is steeped in tradition and former champions include Nick Flanagan, Ashley Hall, England’s Ben Parker, Rohan Blizard and Tim Stewart while Geoff Ogilvy, Brendan Jones and Mathew Goggin claimed the title during the nineties.
