S. Carolina Super Sr.: Mike Weiner wins
FLORENCE, S.C. (Oct. 9, 2013) -- Mike Weiner shot a final round of 75 for a two day total of 148 to win the 7th Annual Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship at Florence Country Club. Charles Persinger finished in second place one shot back at 149 and round one leader Cary Hite finished alone in third place at 150.
Mike Wiener, the 2008 SCGA Senior Champion, started the day two shots behind and managed to do just enough with the fast, undulating Florence CC greens to get in with the victory. The Kiawah Island resident made two birdies and six bogies on the day to finish at 75. Charles Persinger tied for the low score of the day with a two over par 73 to finish one shot behind. Defending Champion, Bob Stringer finished at 156 for the event.
In the Harry Wilson Flight, Rich Agle and Paul Davies tied for first place at 154. In the John Orr Flight, Rick Thrasher finished at 164 to gain a one shot victory.

The 7th Annual SCGA Super Senior Championship was played on the par 71 – 5,950 yard Florence Country Club in Florence, S.C. The event was created to honor the 41 years of service by Anderson’s Harry Wilson to the SCGA. The field consisted of 76 individuals over the age of 65 years old playing a Stroke play format conducted over thirty six holes. The Super Senior Championship is one of 19 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.
