S. Carolina Super Sr.: Hite takes lead
FLORENCE, S.C. (Oct. 8, 2013) -- On a cool breezy day at Florence Country Club, day Dr. Carey Hite posted nines of 34-37 for an even par score of 71 to take a two shot lead heading into final round of the Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship.
Growing up playing Florence Country Club as a junior, Dr. Hite put some of his old experience to use making five birdies during his opening round. The Columbia native had one double bogey on hole #17, but managed to follow it up with a birdie on the par five 18th holes. Trailing just two shots behind the leader is former SCGA Senior Champion, Mike Weiner who had nines of 36-37.
The field was split into three different divisions after the first round. The Championship division consists of players shooting 71-78, the Harry Wilson division has players that shot 79-83 and the John Orr division had players at 84 and over. Final round tee times will begin at 8.00 a.m. off of #1 & #10 tees.

The 7th Annual SCGA Super Senior Championship is being played on the par 71 – 5,950 yard Florence Country Club in Florence, S.C. The event was created to honor the 41 years of service by Anderson’s Harry Wilson to the SCGA. The field consists of 76 individuals over the age of 65 years old playing a Stroke play format conducted over thirty six holes. The Super Senior Championship is one of 19 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.

ABOUT THE Harry Wilson Super Senior
The Super Senior Championship began in 2007 as
an
off shoot of the SCGA's Senior Championship. The
separate event made it possible to take the Super
Senior's to different courses around the State and
to
play from yardages around 5,900 yards.
With the minimum age at 65 years old, the Super
Seniors is an opportunity for event the most
experienced golfer to still compete.
