Two teams share lead at Maine Two-Man
BRUNSWICK, Maine (Sept. 24, 2013) -- Two teams paired up to shoot blistering seven-under-par 65s in the first round of the 2013 Two Man Championship currently being contested at Brunswick Golf Club.
Mark Plummer and Joe Alvarez, both members of this year's winning Maine Tri-State team (held this past weekend) tied former Brunswick members Steve Lycette and Tom Ellsworth to take a one-shot lead over four groups at 66.
An amazing 23 teams were under par for the first round, which featured scramble on the front nine and a best ball format on the back. The tournament has reversed the nines at Brunswick for the event so that players will finish tomorrow in front of the clubhouse.
Tomorrow's finale will feature best ball on the first nine, ending with modified alternate shot (both players hit drives) on the back.
