PNGA Sr. Team: Red numbers blanket scoreboard
SUNRIVER, Ore. (Sept. 18, 2013) -- There were a lot of red numbers on the scoreboard after the first round of the 31st Pacific Northwest Men’s Senior Team Championship. Under perfect weather and course conditions, the Woodlands Course at Sunriver Resort was no match for some of the region’s best senior amateur players, as the two teams of Lyndon Blackwell and Dan Heater, both of nearby Bend, Ore., and Jim McNelis and Karl Smith, both of Gig Harbor, Wash., both blistered the course in the Four-Ball format with 8-under par 64s to sit at the top, tied for the lead.

In all, 11 teams broke par on the day.

54-hole Stroke Play Competition (Gross and Net). Play will be contested over two different golf courses (one round on the Cascade Course and two rounds on the Olympic Course) using a different format on each day (Four-Ball, Chapman, and Four-Ball), Two-person teams with the field separated into two equal flights based on team handicap.
