Minkley leads Georgia Pub-Links
LAKE LANIER ISLAND, Ga. --- Beau Minkley of Atlanta leads the Georgia Public Links Championship after posting an even-par 72 in round one. Four players are one stroke back of Minkley at 1-over-par 73, including Todd Eaker of Lawrenceville, Alp Kupcuoglu of Acworth, Jackson Bishop of Gainesville and the defending champion John Hopper of Eatonton. The 25th annual competition is taking place at Legacy at Lanier, September 14-15.

In the first flight, Travis Kettering of Adairsville leads at 9-over-par 81. Ryan Phillips of Watkinsville and Graham Williams of Gainesville share the lead in flight two after each posting a 14-over-par 86 score. In the third flight, David Sheiman of Duluth's 9-over-par 81 tops the flight.

Entries: Open to male amateur golfers who are members of a GSGA Member Club that is open to public play. Entrants must not have held privileges since January 1 of the current year at any club that does not permit public play.

Field: 72 players with the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes and 72 drawn by lottery; three exemptions are given to the host club

Format: 36 holes of flighted stroke play.
