Washington (WSGA) State Men's Best-Ball Championship
PORT ORCHARD, WA (May 26, 2006) -- Alex Stamey of Everett Golf & Country Club and Tom Brandes of Rainier Golf & Country Club teamed for a sizzling 9-under 63 in the final round to come from behind and claim the 50th WSGA Men’s Best-Ball Championship. The duo’s two-day total of 13-under 131 was good for a 1-shot win over Travis Andrews and Casey Granston. Three teams were tied another stroke back, including first round leaders Steve Klimek and Zack Shriver.

In the Senior Amateur Division, three-time past champions Jack Lamey and Bruce Richards of Seattle Golf Club fired a final round 7-under 65 to outlast first round co-leaders Mick and Jeff Remington and Kent Brown and Rick Weihe. Lamey and Richards shot a two-day total of 11-under 133, which was good for a 2-shot victory over Brown and Weihe. The Remington team finished alone in third, five shots off the pace. Lamey and Richards previously won this event in 1994, 1996, and 2000.

ABOUT THE Washington Men's Best-Ball

36-hole four-ball stroke play, gross and net competitions. Must be a member of a WSGA member club. Senior and regular flights. Partners' handicaps must be within eight strokes. Field filled by exempt players and then order of receipt.
