Rhode Island (RIGA) Senior Four-Ball Championship
EXETER, RI (May 24, 2006) -- Nick Cioe and Jake Gaffey are the champions after firing rounds of 68-69 over the challenging Exeter CC course. They edged out runner-up teams Marc Forbes & Tom Goryl and defending champions Tom Acciardo and Dr. George Pirie by a single shot. Playing together in the final foursome each runner-up team had a chance to tie Cioe & Gaffey who had already posted their 7-under score. Acciardo & Pirie needed eagle to tie while Forbes & Goryl needed a birdie. Neither team was able to convert at Exeter's par-5 closing hole.
In the net division, Scott Donahue and George Fowler win by two over Karl Augenstein and Paul Carney. Their net rounds of 67-60 featured the low gross score for round two - a six under 66.
