Riley ahead at Georgia Senior Women's Amateur
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (Aug. 26, 2013) - Mary Riley of Perry leads the GSGA Senior Women's Championship after posting a 3-over-par 75 at King and Prince Golf Course. Riley is one stroke ahead of four-time defending champion Brenda Pictor of Marietta, who finished at 4-over-par 76 on Monday.
Three players are tied at 5-over-par 77: Donna Eaton and Charlotte Grant, both of Greensboro, and Betsy Butler of Atlanta. Alice Richardson of Alpharetta shot 7-over-par 79. Rounding out the top 10 overall are four players tied at 8-over-par 80, including Karen Stewart of Columbus, Liz Butler of Greensboro, Jodie Shepard of Newnan and Gwen Young of Cochran.
Broken down by flights, Riley and Eaton lead the Championship A and B flights, respectively. Butler leads flight one and Richardson tops flight two. Flight three is led by Phoebe Fulford of Meigs at 12-over-par 84. Three players, Fran Coody of Perry, Eleanor Gibbons of Waleska and Joyce Doss of Carrollton, are tied atop flight five at 19-over-par 91. Mary Ellen Radics of Cumming leads flight five at 20-over-par 92 and Jeanne Follett of Kathleen leads flight six at 23-over-par 95.
