GOTHENBURG, Neb. (Aug. 4, 2013) -- Todd Mitchell fired three straight rounds of 68 to win by nine shots at the Culver's Midwest Cup Mid-Amateur Championship.

At Wild Horse Golf Course, Mitchell was a big winner over a trio of runners-up. Chris Long, Eric Busalacchi and Tim Sheppard all finished nine back and tied for second place.

ABOUT THE Midwest Cup

The Midwest Cup is an eight-state team golf tournament (consisting of 10-players on each team) with the individual stroke- play champion recognized. States involved: Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota & Missouri. The event represents the best Mid-Amateur golfers in the Midwest with invitations based on the player-of-the-year points list provided by each state golf association.

The tournament focuses on excellence by striving for the best quality in the five C’s – Course, Competition, Camaraderie, Charity and Class.
