Current Carolinas Amateur champion Carter Jenkins of Raleigh advances to face Alex Nianouris of Salisbury in Sunday’s 18-hole final.

Jenkins, an 18-year-old rising freshman at UNC-Greensboro, defeated Eric Brady of Cary, 2 and 1, in the quarterfinals. He then was able to outlast Brent McKenzie of Wake Forest by a 3 and 1 score in the afternoon semifinals.

Nianouris, a 19-year old sophomore at Davidson College, defeated Blair Bowland of Burlington 2 and 1 in the morning quarterfinals. He cruised past Pinecrest High School senior Joshua Stockwell of West End by a 7 and 5 score in the semifinals.

The 18-hole championship match is set for 8:00am at Carolina Country Club.
