NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (Aug. 1, 2013) -- Andy Sajevic of Fremont shot 72 in Thursday's final round of the 105th Nebraska Amateur at ArborLinks Golf Course to capture his third title in four years. Sajevic, who posted 2-under-par 286 for the tournament, held off a trio of players that shared runner-up honors (+1) including Omaha's Carson Schaake and Nebraska Wesleyan golfers Rory Doll and Drew Taylor. Schaake, a University of Iowa recruit, was recognized as low junior.
With the win, Sajevic becomes the first player since Steve Friesen in 1998 to win both the Men's Match Play and Men's Amateur crowns in the same year. His father John also accomplished the feat in 1989.
