Okla. State Am: Hughes tops Gooch in final

ARDMORE, Okla. (July 24, 2013) -- Nathan Hughes knocked off Talor Gooch 3-and-2 in the championship match to claim the title at the 2013 Oklahoma State Amateur Championship.
Held at Oklahoma Golf & Country Club, the State Amateur featured a stroke-play qualifier followed by match play.
Gooch was the No. 2 seed while Hughes took the 21st seed when match play began.
In the title match, Gooch won only one hole and was unable to fell victim to a pair of late birdies from Hughes, who closed out the match on the 16th hole.
