Though play was suspended due to darkness, Fox's opening-round 68 leads those who have finished play by two strokes.

Fox, who will be a Maryland Terrapin golfer in the fall, qualified for the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion and has played in two U.S. Junior Amateurs.

Trevor Sluman of Oak Hill Country Club has the second lowest round to begin the 91st annual event at two-under par 70.
