Central Texas Am: Underwood rolls
ROUND ROCK, Texas (July 21, 2013) -- Tony Underwood fired rounds of 73-70--143 to win by three shots at the 2013 Central Texas Amateur Championship at Forest Creek Golf Club.

Underwood was in contention but two shots behind co-leaders Ryan Murphy and Matt Wernecke after the first round on Saturday.

His final-round 70 was the event's best round and resulted in a four-shot victory.

Murphy shot 76 on Sunday to take second place while Chris Hartenstein and Wernecke took third.

Hartenstein's rounds of 76-72--148 were good enough to win the Senior Division, also.

ABOUT THE Central Texas Amateur

36 Hole Scratch Stroke Play tournament played at Forrest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock. The 72 lowest handicap players are placed in the Championship Flight (along with any others who wish to declare for Championship Flight.) All other players play in flights of 16 players or less according to handicap. Seniors (50+) that qualify for Championship Flight will also play a simultaneous Senior Division competition.
