Ams finish 2nd at Tenn. Women's Open
CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (July 21, 2013) -- The 15th Annual Golf Capital of Tennessee Women’s Open has come to a close with Jessica Alexander of Riverview, FL firing a 73 (+1 over par) in the final round to make her 54 hole total 218. Her 1 over par round sealed her win by 2 strokes over Katelyn Sepmoree, Amanda Steinhagen, and Corinna Rees all who shot a 54 hole total of 220 (+4 over par).
Going into the final round, Alexander, Rees, and Haley Wilson were tied for the lead at 145 (+1 over par). Wilson finished with 71-74-81-226, while Rees finished tied for low amateur with 70-75-75-220. Tough pin placements, heat, and an enormous amount of gnats all came into play during the three rounds played at Stonehenge Golf Club.
A $25,250 purse was awarded to all professionals who made the cut. Alexander was presented a $5,000 check by Crossville Mayor, J.H. Graham III.

ABOUT THE Tennessee Women's Open
Eligibility: Entries are open to professional and
amateur female
golfers who meet the following requirements (1)
meet the USGA
policy on transgender individuals and (2) for amateur
participants,
have USGA Handicap Index of 7.0 or less for the
Open Division and
12.0 or less for the Senior Division from a USGA
recognized state
or regional golf association at the time of entry.
Senior Division
participants must be 50 years of age or older on the
first day of the
competition.
Field: 144 players with 96 positions are reserved for
the Open
Division and 48 positions are reserved for the Senior
Division.
Format: The Women's Open Open Division will be
contested at 54-
holes of stroke play. The field will be cut to the low
60 players and
ties after 36-holes. The Women's Open Senior
Division is contested
at 36-holes of stroke play without a cut.
Professionals and
amateurs in their respective divisions play from the
same yardage
