Williams wins Golden Isles Invitational in Georgia

BRUNSWICK, Georgia (July 6, 2013) — Josh Williams held on to win the 63rd annual Golden Isles Invitational at Brunswick Country Club, an annual 4th of July weekend tournament played in the mainland port city that serves as the hub of Georgia's four barrier reef islands.
Savannah’s Joe Lewis fired a tournament-best 66 to finish one stroke back.
Williams, of St. Simons Island at 68-69-71—208 while Lewis, who plays the University of Mississippi, posted rounds of 69-74-66 for 209.
Travis Williamson of the host city was third at 68-72-70—210.
SENIOR DIVISION
Joel Willis posted rounds of 72-71-71 to win by 6 strokes over Danny Daniels.

ABOUT THE Golden Isles Invitational
The Golden Isles Invitational dates back to
1949. That year, 'Dynamite' Goodloe claimed
the inaugural championship - marking the
beginning of a long-standing tradition at
Brunswick Country Club. Through the years,
this event has gained notoriety and popularity
and continues to attract players of all ages
and ability levels.
The Golden Isles Invitational is traditionally
played over the July 4th holiday week and
many players and their families travel to
Brunswick and St. Simons to enjoy the golf,
the beach and the celebration of our nation's
independence. Invitations are mailed out the first
week
of May.
