California head coach Steve Desimone (Division I), Jimmy Stobs of Barry (Division II), King Campbell of UT Tyler (Division III), Kyle Blaser of Oklahoma City (NAIA), Dave Jennings of Central Alabama (NJCAA Division I) and Bill Gardner of Walters State (NJCAA Division II) have received the Dave Williams award presented by Eaton Golf Pride as the national coaches of the year, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Friday.

Desimone earned the 2013 Dave Williams Award after receiving the Pac-12 Coach of the Year. Cal finished the season as the No. 1-ranked team by Golfweek and Golfstat, although the team was upset in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships. The Golden Bears set the modern-day record with 12 victories in 14 events.

Stobs, who was also the 2007 Dave Williams Award recipient, led the Buccaneers to the Sunshine State Conference championship and the NCAA Division II National Championship. The Bucs won three tournaments this season and finished second five other times.

??Campbell – after announcing his retirement earlier in the year – led UT Tyler to the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship as well as three regular-season tournament wins. UT Tyler finished as runners-up at the ASC conference tournament.Blaser guided the Stars to their ninth NAIA championship behind a 28-stroke victory. Blaser has won more NAIA men’s golf championships and NAIA national coach of the year awards than any other coach. He is also the Sooner Athletic Conference coach of the year.

Jennings earned the award for the second time after winning coach of the year in 2010. Central Alabama claimed the 2013 NJCAA Division I national championship by overcoming a 19-shot deficit to claim a one-shot victory. The Trojans won seven tournaments during the 2012-13 season.

Gardner lead Walters State to a stellar season in which the team never finished lower than seventh in any tournament. The Senators set a new program best with a second-place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
