Tour Edge has long been a great under-the- radar golf manufacturer, producing quality golf equipment with innovative technologies. If you are an accomplished player looking for a new fairway wood, the Tour Exotics CB Pro is one to consider.

FIRST REACTION

The Exotics CB line is geared towards the lower handicap golfer, and the CB Pro falls right in line. The CB PRO combines the smaller head size of the brand's tour-winning CB2 to create a classic- appearing looking fairway wood. The club has a simple black crown and a less-is-more look by having no graphics or alignment aides. The club screams “old school,” and we consider that a good thing.

SPECS

What’s new is the patent-pending Slip Stream sole™ technology. You instantly notice it when you look at the sole of the club. The technology is designed to reduce the turf interaction so as to maintain club speed through impact under all turf conditions. Visually, the Slip Stream looks like waves in the ocean and at first blush, looks a little gimmicky. But after several swings off of fairway, hard pan and rough, you’ll be comfortable with the Slip Stream. It glides through the turf effortlessly as if every shot is teed up.

The CB Pro features Tour Edge’s premium beta titanium cup face that is combo-brazed to a heavier hyper-steel body designed to produce maximum distance. The forward-positioned center of gravity delivers a powerful, penetrating trajectory yet comes down soft enough to hold the green.

The CB Pro comes with some great upgrades, mostly in the shaft. The stock shaft for the CB Pro is the genuine Fujukura Speeder 661 and 757 series. These shafts are tour proven for performance, control and distance. A nice added touch is a Stitch leather headcover.

TAKEAWAYS

The Tour Edge CB Pro is a classic fairway wood designed for the better player. Center hits fly off the clubface proving that this new technology lives up to its billing. Retailing at $500, the CB Pro is perhaps the most expensive fairway wood on the market. But when you take into account the genuine Fujikura shaft, and leather headcover, you are getting all this technology for a lot less than other products on the market.

Bottom line is that the CB Pro is a dynamic looking and dynamic performing fairway wood designed for the better player.

The CB Pro comes in lofts from 13.5 to 17.5 degrees in R,S and X flex.
