Wintergreen Resort is an 11,000-acre, four-season resort located in the Blue Ridge Mountains southwest of Charlottesville, Virginia. The resort is home to two courses, the Devil's Knob Course and the 27-hole Stoney Creek Course.
When Ellis and Dan Maples designed the Devil's Knob Course, the highest golf course in Virginia, his challenge was to enhance its stunning Blue Ridge Mountain setting. Sitting at an elevation of over 3,800 feet, players leave Devils Knob golf course remembering narrow fairways, consistently excellent turf conditions and unsurpassed vistas. Typically 12-18 degrees cooler even than its sister golf course, Stoney Creek, Devils Knob golf course provides Virginia's coolest playing conditions throughout the summer and the most dramatic mountain foliage backdrop throughout the fall.
Stoney Creek Golf Course is the resort’s 27-hole valley layout designed by renowned golf course architect Rees Jones. Flowing through the historic Rockfish Valley, it incorporates natural springs and native habitat, including Lake Monocan and Stoney Creek, with all three nines presenting elevation changes and large, deceptively contoured greens.
