The Peter Jacobsen – Jim Hardy design was opened for play in the fall of 2000, and is consistently rated as one of the best daily fee facilities in the greater Houston area. Both Golf Magazine and Travel and Leisure have listed it as one of the Top 10 courses for $100 or less. The South Course was host to the first stage of PGA Tour qualifying in 2003 and 2004, and U.S. Amateur qualifying in 2002 and 2003.
The South Course measures 7,171 yards from the back tees, and has matured into a true championship caliber course. The first 12 holes wander through elm, oak, ash and pine trees, and around numerous lakes and creeks. The final six holes are cleverly laid out around an old sand quarry that is now a wetlands area.
