CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 4, 2006) -- Chuck Hart of Rochester, N.Y., and Rick Woulfe of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., completed their domination of the 24th annual Society of Seniors Ed Tutwiler Memorial Four-Ball Championship with a three-stroke victory Thursday at the Daniel Island Club.

Hart and Woulfe had a bogey-free six under par 66, scoring three birdies on each nine, to close at 199. They scored 64-69 the first two days on the Beresford Creek course, leading by just one stroke at each juncture. They opened the lead to three on the front nine Thursday and cruised home.

Bill Baloh of Herminie, Pa., and John Esterbrook of Francestown, Md., were second with 68-202, followed at 203 by Ronnie Grove, Raleigh, N.C., with Larry Boswell, Jamestown, N.C., (62) and Bob Hullender, San Antonio, Texas, with Van Lefferdink, Jupiter, Fla. (68). After opening with four pars, Grove and Boswell birdied 10 of the next 11 holes, then stalled, closing with three more pars.

It was the first Society of Seniors victory for both Hart and Woulfe. Hart, a former club professional in Western New York and South Florida, is the father of PGA Tour player Dudley Hart. Woulfe, an attorney, is a past president of the Florida State Golf Association and last Saturday (April 29), won the senior division of the George L. Coleman Invitational at Seminole Golf Club in North Palm Beach, Fla. Woulfe won the Dixie Amateur in 1992 and the senior division of the Dixie the last two years.

Bill Feehan of Marco Island, Fla., and Bob Hughett of Lincoln, Neb., won the super seniors division for Society members 70 and older Wednesday with a 36-hole total of 141.

The Society of Seniors is an organization of senior amateur golfers 55 years and older with handicaps of three or less. There are four tournaments annually more than 600 members nationwide.

The weather here was nearly perfect throughout tournament week and Daniel Island proved to be a worthy host for the Society.

Next on the Society schedule: Nov. 6-9, Dale Morey Memorial Championship, Quail Ridge CC, Boynton Beach, Fla., and Dec. 12-14, Ralph Bogart Memorial Winter Invitational, The Club at TwinEagles, Naples, Fla. Tutwiler, Morey and Bogart were among the founders of the Society of Seniors in 1982.
