The original Eastern Four Ball was played at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland from 1970 to 1984 (with one year at nearby Chevy Chase Club), and was known as one of the premier four ball tournaments in the country. Starting in 1991, Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland hosted the Congressional Four Ball during the same weekend that was previously used to play the Eastern Four Ball. In 2000, the Tournament was played for one year at the Lowes Island Club (now Trump National) in Potomac Falls, Virginia, and it was renamed the Eastern Four Ball as a tribute to the original Tournament. Winners of the Tournament include numerous Walker Cup participants and other outstanding amateurs of the time.
