Amateur left-handed golfers from throughout the U.S. will represent the United States in the 2007 James Cup International Match Play Championship set for November 2-4, 2006 in Tauwan. The United States Team will be defending the Cup against an International Team of lefty amateurs representing 10 countries: Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland. The United States holds a 3-0 record in the Championship by prevailing at the inaugural 2002 Matches in Spain and again in 2003 (Canada) and 2005 (Ireland).
This unique Championship for amateur left-handed golfers dates back to 1973. It became an International Championship in 2002 with the objective of promoting international goodwill through spirited competition, sportsmanship, individual and national pride.
