Nebraska Sr. Match Play: Sock holes out for win
VALLEY, Neb. (Aug. 8, 2012) -- With his match against Jay Muller of Bennington all square, Lincoln's Larry Sock holed out from the fairway for eagle to win the 2nd Nebraska Senior Match Play Championship Wednesday at the Pines Country Club. It is Sock's first senior title having won 6 major amateur titles in the 70's 80's and 90's. Muller won the Nebraska Amateur in 1995.

After taking a brief 1 up lead following a Muller bogey on hole 2 Sock never led the match again until his holed shot on #18. Left with a pitch shot to match Sock's eagle Muller wasn't able to make it from 50 yards.

Murray Krambeer of Bellevue (far left) topped Scott Howerter of Lincoln 3 and 2 to win the event's President's flight. Larry Voorhees of Omaha (middle left) and Todd Jelden of Kearney (left) won their respective net division flights.
