Pine Needles Invitational: Westveer, Harvey win in playoff
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (March 3, 2013) -- Brian Westveer and Scott Harvey defeated Jimmy Delp and Buck Brittain in a one-hole playoff to take the top spot at the 2013 Pine Needles Invitational.
Westveer and Harvey (65-69-66--200) finished the 54-hole event at the historic Donald Ross-designed Pine Needles and Mid-Pines tied with Delp and Brittain (68-67-65--200) but took the top prize after a sudden-death playoff.
Jon Hurst and Keith Decker were third after rounds of 68-67-68--203.
In the senior flight, Harold Payne and Steve Fox were three-shot winners after rounds of 67-69-70--206.
Ed Battle and Terry Crumpler (69-68-72--209) were tied for second place alongside Doug and Dave Ison (68-69-72--209).

ABOUT THE Pine Needles Invitational
54 holes four-ball stroke play championship with
open
and senior (both players ages 50+) divisions. The
first
two rounds are best-ball and the final round is
modified
alternate shot. The field will be cut to the low 48
teams split between both divisions following the
second round. The Consulation Round will be played
at Mid Pines.
