Qualifying for the 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at The Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio kicked off earlier this month and continues ahead of the August 6-12 tournament.

Among the golfers who have already clinched a berth is Latanna Stone of Valrico, Fla. Stone, just 10-years old has already won 100 tournaments in her amateur career and is the youngest golfer to have qualified for the event. Her 70 earned medalist honors at the qualifier at The Wanderers Club in Wellington, Fla. on June 13.

Amy Meier, the No. 18 player in the Golfweek/amateurgolf.com World Women's Rankings, qualified with a 75 at the Country Club of Detroit in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.

Fellow ranked players Grace Na (Oakland, Calif.), Meghan Khang (Rockland, Mass.), Isabelle Lendl (Goshen, Conn.) and Brooke Henderson (Kennewick, Wash.) also qualified.

36-hole stroke U.S. Women's Amateur stroke play qualifier open to female amateurs with a handicap of 2.4 and below. The number of qualifying spots will be based on the size of the field.
