Greer and Smith fight the odds to win Tennessee Four-Ball
After 36 holes of stroke play qualifying, surviving a 4-hole playoff to make the bracket, and four rounds of match play, Jack Smith and Ryan Greer of Knoxville, TN captured the 2016 Tennessee Four-Ball Championship.

This year’s host, Black Creek Club, of Chattanooga, TN was a tremendous setting for the event offering breathtaking views and a perfect risk/reward setting for the match play formatted event. In Saturday’s first semi-final match Lake Johnson and Scott Stevens of Chattanooga, TN defeated Vince Gallagher of Springfield, TN and Jacob Sherlin of Hendersonville, TN with a riveting 20 hole match.

Jack Smith and Ryan Greer of Knoxville, TN bested Andrew Weathers of Chattanooga, TN and Mikey Feher of Signal Mountain, TN 3&2 to advance to Saturday afternoon’s finals.

The stage was set for a great final and Smith and Greer certainly delivered. After halving the first two holes Smith and Greer birdied holes three, four, and five to go two up over Johnson and Stevens. Giving one up at the par-5 sixth, Greer and Smith would win the eighth and ninth holes to make the turn at 3 up. A birdie at the par-5 fourteenth placed the duo from Knoxville in prime position and a birdie at the par-4 fifteenth by Ryan Greer sealed the 4&3 victory for the 2016 crown.
