NORMAN, OK (May 6, 2016) - Texas closed the regular season No. 1 in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. The Longhorns, who collected 16 first-place votes, have held the top spot for three straight rankings. Texas recently won its third straight Big 12 title.

With their Big Ten championship Illinois remained second and earned the five-remaining first-place votes. Stanford with a win at the Pac-12 Championship climbed to third and was followed by Georgia, Oklahoma State and Southern California. Clemson following their win at the ACC Championship entered the top 10 at No. 7. Vanderbilt and Auburn each dropped one spot, to Nos. 8 and 9, respectively. LSU jumped three spots to No. 10.

Washington (#23) and Texas A&M (#25) reentered the top 25.

Oregon and Virginia dropped from the ranking.

NOTABLE MOVES

Besides the the Clemson and LSU jumps into the top-10 the most notable move came from Arizona State. The Sun Devils were slated in at No. 9 in the second to last regular season poll but slid back to No. 14 in the final edition. Arizona State's last tournament, the Pac-12 Championship, resulted in a third place finish, but a distant third to winner Stanford.
