Three teams lead AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 13, 2016) -- Phil Mickelson is at 16-under, so it's no surprise that he and amateur partner John Veihmeyer (global chairman of Mickelson's sponsor KPMG) have made the cut.

But just barely. They finished 18-under. But in all fairness to Veihmeyer -- who resides in frigid New York by the way -- it's hard to help a player playing as well as Mickelson.

Contrast that with team co-leaders Andres Romero and Sean Kell.

Kell, a 9.4 handicap from Sahalee Country Club in Washington and CEO of senior living company 'A Place for Mom' provided Romero with 25-shots of assistance over three days. That means that although Romero missed the cut by shooting 2-under, he will play on Sunday in one of the weird things about the Pro-Am format.

And how about this Sunday pairing for Romero and Kell? They will play with Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson. If Kell and Romero have avoided the spotlight so far this week, they are about to have it shine right in their eyes. The gallery loves to get a look at world No. 1 Jordan Spieth and DJ draws a pretty good crowd himself.

Tied at 23-under are the teams of Canadian golfer David Hearn and his agent David Dube and Freddie Jacobson Bill Rhodes.

Hearn (7-under) got 16 shots of help from Dube, while Rhodes provided 10 shots of assistance to his partner, who is in 3rd place at 13-under.

Jacobson and Rhodes have a fun final round pairing -- they will play Pebble Beach with Sung Kang and partner, actor Ray Romano. Kang shot a course record 60 on Monterey Peninsula Shore Course on Friday with Mike "Fluff" Cowan on the bag.

Three teams that shot 17-under were eliminated in a scorecard playoff; one of those being Bubba Watson and Mark Wahlberg. And alas, the ever-popular Bill Murray won't be playing Sunday, he and partner D.A. Points shot 10-under.
